I fist tried Proactiv around the age of 13. My mom suggested I give it a try, because like most teens I struggled with moderate acne. After a year my acne was well under control, and I felt I no longer needed it to control my acne, so I gave Proactiv a break for about 5 years. Now almost 20 I began to notice my skin breaking out more and more often. I first atributed the breakouts to a swich in make-up (I began adding a tinted moisturizer under my bareminerals foundation to help give me added coverage and moisture). I switched to a completly oil free and fragrance free tinted moisturizer with little success in clearing up my skin. I fan of Clinique products and skin care i was a little hesitant to try Proactive again, eventhough it had worked wonders for me before. About 2 weeks ago I finally broke down and purchased Proactiv. So far I have noticed clearer, brighter, and smoother skin. However living in a very dry and windy climate I have found that my skin simply cannot handle the drying effects of twice a day as directed. What I now am doing is using Proactiv in the morning under my make-up (with a moisturizing sunscreen) and my Clinique 3-step combination/oily skin care at night to help repair my dry skin as I sleep. For anyone out there who is unhappy with Proactiv because of drying effects I would try somthing similar to this. I would however invest in an equal quality skin care such as Clinique. When you put good products on your skin, you get good results. Also remember to always wear a good sunscreen and extra moisturizer if you need it. Overall however I truely belive Proactiv is a great product that works wonders.

I am not happy at all! I used to use the original formula and it worked great for a year and then my acne came back. Now on the new formula my skin cleared up for 2 days and then my breakouts got worse and my skin went oily and then dry and peeled.

It's the only product that works for me. When I use it twice every day it drys out my skin terribly and to the point where it becomes painful and so flaky it's almost more embarrassing than the acne was. I switched to using it once a day and found a good balance. Occasionally I supplement with a good face moisturizer.
If I stop using it even for a day or two, my skin breaks out again.

I appreciate that its easy to use and it doesn't have alcohol in it. It doesn't burn when I use it! I also have extremely sensitive skin and have reacted to products such as Oxy.

I LOVE Proactive ... I'm in my 30's and I've tried SOOOOOOO many other acne products and have never found anything that works this well. It took a few months to really see and feel the difference but now people actually comment on how great my skin looks. My favourite thing about Proactive is that I used to get very large painful pimples that would take weeks to go away, Proactive prevents those big painful pimples. My advice to anyone thinking about starting Proactive: DO IT! ... expect it to get worse within the 1st month or so BUT stick it out because within 3-5 months you are really going to love the results. GOOD LUCK!! and thank you Proactive.

I use the product religiously and was surprised that it worked within the first 3-4 days! I am 30 years old and have had blemishes since I was 8 years old. I have tried pretty much everything and wish I had this system when I was younger. I get excited at the end of a day to come home and wash my face! It feels clean, moisturized and blemish free. Not only does Proactiv restore healthy skin, it restores self esteem. Thank you!

I use the product along with Dans Regimen and it works ok. But honestly I have moderate to severe acne and I would not recommend it, it does not do all that much. I am a 20 year old male. It might get rid of a few zits at first but they just come back and it does not seem any better after that. I have been using the new proactiv for 2 months now and it has not improved my acne, just gotten rid of a few zits at first but thats all. I do not recommend this product if you have more than a couple of zits (around 3 or 4).
